CERAMIC ARTIST

My practice focusses on building a narrative into ceramics through use of clay as a canvas. I use slip casting as my principle method of making, though also explore hand building, sculpture, throwing and 3D printing. I use porcelain and bone china clay and slip to create my pieces, and make all of my moulds from my own models.

Clay has its own language and behaviour, these quirks captivate me and I embrace the transience and imperfections in the style of the Japanese aesthetic wabi-sabi. I find myself mirrored with this practice in life, and find happiness from enjoying clay as a therapeutic tool.
